There are two potential routes for the Project Director, either to work across one large and key account or to work across a number of smaller well known brands.  Either way an opportunity to join a passionate digital team for an award winning agency.

As Project Director you will reporting directly to the Director of Project Management and partnering with the Business Directors, the Project Director is responsible for managing and coordinating the projects and Project Managers across their respective Client/Account Groups ensuring the efficient and successful delivery of all projects according to client requirements and the high standards of the Agency.

As a senior member of the agency, the Project Director will be seen as a leader within the Digital group providing insights and challenging their current way of working, whilst constantly seeking way to develop the agency in the constantly changing Digital environment.

The Project Director has exceptional project, personnel management, client management and leadership skills and has a proven track record in project execution and managing a programme of projects from commencement through to successful delivery.

Experience Required

          Flawless project management skills with adaptive use of the appropriate methodology of dependent the needs of the Client/Account Group.

          Strong leadership skills, with the ability to manage board level internal and client relationships

          Strong negotiation, mediation and facilitation skills

          The ability to create and manage third party relationships at a senior level

          Excellent working knowledge of project management tools such as MS Project with the ability to coach PM team member on their appropriate use

          Ability to monitor the quality of all aspects of all projects: scope, risk, schedule, budget, quality, delivery on time on brief on budget and all associated client communication.

          Exceptional core project management skills

          To be able to work closely with the Director of Project Management and Business Directors and communicate with clients and teams on an ongoing basis on all Client/Account Group production process and status

          Prepare business requirements, reports and feasibility studies and provide digital production consultation to the client, account, strategic, creative and production teams in management of the project lifecycle process and defining individual project requirements

          Experience in execution of new business pitches from a project management perspective to ensure potential work is scoped and priced correctly.

          Effectively encourage communication with other departments (Creative, Technology, Operations, Finance, User Experience, Strategy & Accounts) ensuring a smooth and productive flow of work.

          Ensure consistency in overall PM team communication, methodology, best practices and team management.

Our client is a London based pure play digital agency with a focus on larger design and build projects who are looking for a Project Manager to support a very busy Project Management team.  The focus of the work is email campaigns and small site builds in this case however.  These guys are a really button down agency so will suit a Project Manager who comes from a more structured PM agency background.  They are a great agency to get on the CV, very respected on the industry.

Key skills are:

  • Strong client-facing skills
  • Disciplined PM skills: tracking, reporting, people management

  • Practical knowledge of web design and/or development

Hope you’ve enjoyed the weekend. Here’s some brief info on two new freelance roles we’re working on for an expanding and super-busy charity in North London. Not the highest paying gig in London but just think of how good you’ll feel about ‘giving something back’!

 Partner project PM

Again, we’re looking for a good midweight to work alongside a lead PM on this key project for the charity’s brand partner website and digital asset system.

This contract would suit a digital PM with lots of stakeholder management and requirements gathering expertise – this is much more important than heavy technical knowledge as the role will revolve around planning the migration of partner content, managing expectations, and spacing up system and process solutions.

Commercial expertise is again important for this one, as is bags of stakeholder management.

  • The role is based on-site in North London and will pay commensurate with experience in the £200-240 per day bracket.
  • Start date asap for an initial period of 3 months.

Hope you’ve enjoyed the weekend. Here’s some brief info on two new freelance roles we’re working on for an expanding and super-busy charity in North London. Not the highest paying gig in London but just think of how good you’ll feel about ‘giving something back’!

Role 1 – ‘Business As Usual’ PM

This role is for a solid midweight PM (or upwards) to work across a wide variety of digital projects including intranet, digital marketing campaigns, site functionality enhancements, e-commerce enhancements, online community implementation and integration work around CRM and email systems. The Project Manager would be responsible for projects end to end  and will be tasked with ensuring delivery of projects on time and on budget.

Good project planning and stakeholder management skills are more important than strict methodologies or deep technical knowledge. It’s important that you have a background in commercial organisations as this is a very fast paced environment which requires a well honed ability to prioritise tasks based on commercial understanding.

  • The role is based on-site in North London and will pay commensurate with experience in the £200-240 per day bracket.
  • Start date asap for an initial period of 3 months.

Digital Programme Director – £80k – 130k- London- J523

The Programme Director is the senior representative responsible for the Programme. They are the client side representative who acts as a single focal point of contact with the Project Managers for the day-to-day management and interests of the Program.  The PD is responsible for ensuring that the desired Programme objectives are delivered.  The person in this role must have adequate knowledge and information about the business and the Programme to be able to make informed decisions.

It’s a very interesting role. Hugely exciting client.  It’s a world renowned client and the site will feature elements of social interaction, gaming, e-commerce and it is a huge creative project with some amazing design elements.  It is the largest client they have ever had and the Programme Director will be the senior Stakeholder working closely with their Chief Exec and Board and with the client directly.  It needs someone with sufficient gravitas to work at senior level and take accountability on the delivery of the programme.

The aim is to develop key commercial digital propositions, expand the digital presence by distributing content beyond their websites through targeted content syndication and to be experimental and agile in approach.

As Producer your key accountabilities are

Lead discovery phase of a project, to develop the creative strategy at the heart of any given piece of work

Co ordinate the selection of creative/development agencies and outline the overall approach by project

Plan the project in detailed iterations following Agile methodology

Identify, manage and communicate project progress to key internal stakeholders – internal and external

Work with Technical, Editorial, Content and Commercial at strategic and delivery level

Experience Required

In-depth experience covering the delivery of interactive commercial projects, including online video delivery, from inception to launch and onwards throughout business-as-usual iterative development

In-depth knowledge of good user experience (UX) practices and experience working with UX agencies

Our client is a very well known consumer brand who are looking for a Senior Project Manager with a strong technical focus.  The role involves overseeing their online hub in Great Britain and Ireland, a high profile, high traffic web, mobile and social media programme with over 1.5 million members.

As Technical Project Manager you will be responsible for:

  • Being the in-house expert on technology infrastructure and technical capabilities
  • scheduling projects and managing expectations across the business
  • Managing the successful delivery of a complex, rapidly-changing programme of promotions, brand experiences and new website features
  • Defining requirements for new features, working with internal stakeholders (brand, loyalty, digital, legal, consumer information, IT) and external marketing, creative and technical agencies
  • Managing the production and approval of briefing documents, wireframes and specifications
  • Providing technical input to brand, loyalty and IT strategies
  • Managing commercial relationships with external technology partners
