The Art of Digital Preservation
The University of Portsmouth have launched a new incentive to preserve digital art and design and save them from being wiped out for ever. The scheme hopes to save digital material which would otherwise be lost as hardware becomes obsolete with technological advances. The initiative will take place over three talks which start in June.
University of the Arts undergo Strategic Review
Moving Brands has been hired to work on the visual identities for the institute. The existing design was created by two students how won an open competition to submit designs. The consultancy will now work for 3 months to review and redefine the UAL brand and identity.

Sony unveil two new tablet devices
Yesterday Sony revealed not one but 2 new tablet devices, the S1 and S2. The S1 is Sony’s rival to the iPad. The S2 which is pitched as the main competition to the Ninetendo DS feature a double screen. Both will run Android apps and are expected on the US market in the autumn.

Brooklyn based photographer Jonathon Harris has produced a film of a collection of his photos. After turning 30 Harris began a daily ritual of taking one photo and posting it to his website, the end result is a glorious collection of photographs ranging from the mundane to the simple marvellous.
