Facebook Flotation

Today has seen the historical flotation of Facebook. Having pushed there their estimated valuation to £100bn +, I cannot help but be sceptical and think that this is a little ambitious and could potentially be losing a lot of people money. Sure enough though with an oversubscribed IPO it will be an interesting tale to unfold. At the launch today in true Facebook style engineers had hacked the NASDAQ button so that as Mark Zuckerberg rang the bell, an automatic post would be sent via mobile to his Facebook timeline declaring his new listing. Here’s how they did it

Mobile Traffic

Twitter has now reached 10m users in the UK alone, that’s the fourth biggest following of any country in the world. More interestingly is our percentage usage via mobile being considerably higher than the rest of the world with 80% of us Brits logging in via mobile,  with London being the Twitter capital of the world according to many industry experts. read more here

So it seems everyone has got one these days, a mobile app that is. This time it’s the turn of Olympic hopeful Tom Daily. Already one of the more media savvy Olympians Tom is hoping to raise awareness for the sport with his new app game read more about it all here

Cool Campaign

Here’s a cool augmented reality campaign from Absolute Vodka. An app that coincides with Google street to allow you to create your own street art wherever you are. The cooler bit is that you can get your image put onto a personalised bottle of Vodka check out the video here
