In preparation of the much anticipated IPO next month, Facebook has made another bold move to protect itself from Internet Property infringement claims by spending $550m on web technology patents. Microsoft originally outbid Facebook and bought a billion dollar package of patents from AOL, however immediately announced they would be selling a proportion of the patents on.
