Paul Edward’s October News and Views
Technical News and View – October
Last month I attempted a “web developer” joke as a precursor to my technical news and views, sadly this did not go down as well as I had planned. So this month, far from being deterred by this I have decided to have another go, so here goes…
“How many developers does it take to change a lightbulb? None- it’s a hardware problem”
Cue… tumbleweed…..bell chiming, oh well…please yourselves
Perhaps then I should crack straight on with this month’s technical News and Views, and what a month it is shaping up to be. The much anticipated Iphone 4S has at last hit our shores and the reviews are… well let’s say mixed, here are couple of our favourites:
Strategic consultancy CoSkill recently presented their Fast Forward to 2012 seminar in London’s City Hall. It was a fascinating trend prediction and inspiration session, examining the key advances that they expect to affect you, your brand and your company in the next year. Check out the link below to the video of the session.
On October 10th two Google engineers launched ‘Dart’ a new language designed to help developers build web applications, but what will the implications be for Javascript?
Next up – from wired.co.uk, news that iphone and ipad developers can now integrate spotify into their apps, pretty cool, that’s all.
Again from The Register, a survey published by CW jobs makes claims that Learning to code in your bedroom will prepare you for the IT job market just as well as a three-year degree costing £27,000, controversial?
and finally to Social Media Examiner with an article for those thinking of developing their first mobile site.
As always I would welcome your views and opinions, please send your comments to .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address)
