Upcoming events to inspire the user experience community in London
Upcoming events to inspire the user experience community in London.
I love going to events organised by the user experience communities, so many times I have been surprised by the variety of topics that people are interested in and like to talk about. So I thought I would put together a list of upcoming events that may be of interest to anyone with an interest in ux, design, strategy and more.
First event on the list is “31 Awesomely Practical UX Tips” on the 29th May – which you can attend online. Basically, six people from the industry share everything you need to know on ux. The speakers are Steve Krug, Luke Wrobleski, Whitney Quesenbery, Susan Weinschenk and Aaron Walter from Rosenfeld Media, and Jeffrey Eisenberg, a market optimization expert and NY Times best selling author. I think it sounds amazing! #31uxtips
On the 6th June make sure you attend the Future of Digital Marketing here in London (#fodm) where some of UK’s best strategists come together to identify trends, where they are going and how we can use them to our advantage now. It sounds like the sort of event that will be eye-opening and totally mind stretching. Oh, and I’ve been told it sells out reaaally fast. Speakers range from the people of Econsultancy (Ashley Friedlein), Twitter (Bruce Daisley), AKQA (Toby Barnes) and Carson Content (James Carson). See ya there!
Now for something more about content strategy: on the 17th June 10 people get 5 minutes each and 20 slides to share what they think about strategy, in an exciting and quick format. Go to the Content Strategy Lightning Talks and be inspired! @LondonCSMeetup #cslondon13
On the 26th June make sure to attend the Customer Experience Forum, a day to talk about businesses and the understanding of customer experience. Alexander Baxevanis is the speaker, and he is a UX designer at Webcredible (@webcredible). Great day to inspire and educate!
The Dare Conference (@DareConf) runs from the 23rd to the 25th of September. Their website opens with a great quote by Steve Jobs: “Your time is limited, so don’t waste it living someone else’s life”. This conference promises to be all about people being trouble-makers, people that dare and try to make things differently. No spectators, everyone participates. Mysterious and exciting.. #dareconf
To conclude, a list of events hosted by the UXPA, running from the 18th of July to the 19th December. I have always enjoyed all their events, and the programme looks very promising, again. They even welcome new speakers and new sponsors, so if you feel like it, send an email to the UXPA president, Stavros Garzonis. For a full list of events click here.
I love how everyone in this space aims to make the ux community so vibrant and interesting, I’ve felt welcome from the beginning, and look forward to attending some of these.
If you have any suggestions on events I should look up, feel free to send me a message on Twitter, Linkedin or send me an email at .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address). I look forward to hearing from you!
